In the heart of Uttar Pradesh, two entrepreneurs, Rajendra Kashyam and Ramu Yadav, accomplished something they once thought was beyond their reach - their Udyam Registration. This seemingly simple achievement marked a milestone in the journey toward their dreams, and they were just the first of many.

Registering local kirana shops, sweets stalls, or vegetable stores on the government portal for MSME recognition is critical for unlocking the benefits for many micro and nano entrepreneurs in India. To facilitate the same, the Flipkart Foundation and Haqdarshak (HQ) have joined forces to support micro and nano entrepreneurs in formalising their basic documents and applying for various grants for MSMEs. The collaborative intervention has taken root in two bustling districts of Uttar Pradesh: Lucknow and Varanasi.

The core objective is to bolster the participation of MSMEs in the scheme by offering needed support. Together, the collaboration provides a guiding light for micro and nano-entrepreneurs, assisting local entrepreneurs and aspirants in establishing their businesses.

From the intricacies of documentation to unravelling the labyrinth of welfare schemes, Haqdarshak stands by their side, navigating this challenging path. This includes shedding light on other such schemes that hold the potential to transform their businesses and lives.

Going a step forward, this intervention extends its hand to uplift women entrepreneurs by acknowledging and addressing their unique challenges and requirements. Here, the focus is on mobilising and educating all local agents who tread the grassroots. Through comprehensive training on a range of formalisation schemes, they are equipped to impart the right guidance.

The collaboration shares a common belief: real change occurs at the very foundation of our society, and by facilitating this shift to formalised sectors, they are igniting a spark that will transform the entrepreneurial landscape to be more robust and inclusive.

For countless underprivileged micro and nano entrepreneurs like Rajendra and Ramu, there is now a glimmer of hope. With enhanced market access to entrepreneurship, these industrious individuals have the freedom to realise their dreams of prosperity
